Fig:1 .This vendor stall is at the Singsandhra. A lady is the owner of this stall. I used to take fruits from her stall because she sells litter cheaper fruits than any other vendors, and she is talkative also so I found myself little easier to communicate with her, although language issue always occurred among us but somehow we both try to manage. She is more comfortable in speaking “Telgu” and “Kannada” and for me both are unfamiliar language.  Because I used visit at her stall at least a day in a week, so I found that it will be easy for her also to share her experience freely without any hesitation about  their work, that place from her point of view, from where does she belong, about her life and other so many things. One day I went to this place at the evening time and it was raining. So unfortunately I stand near by her stall for an hour and it was a very good time to talk with her. After taking a bowl of pineapple I offered her too so she can connect with me. Initially I asked her about fruits where she bought all this, on what rate and variety of Banana. She shared all the details about this. She shared that in Bangalore banana comes from Andhra Pradesh, Mysore and from other parts of Karnataka.

After while she shared that she is from Andhra Pradesh, her family migrated from their place several years back in search of better livelihood option. When I asked her do you think that now you and your family have better livelihood option? She said not exactly but the only thing which differ is at least here we all are engage with some work so we are earning some amount but there my father hadn’t any such kind of option. She is married and she has one child also. Her child goes to the govt. school which is very close to her stall. Later she told me that in that place every vendors, whoever stall is there are migrated family or individual and mostly belongs different district of Tamilnadu.

There are lot of other vendors in that area. In some stalls one can find chicken soup, some sells Pakoda, some are vegetable seller, some are only banana seller. And they all migrated from somewhere mostly from Andhra Pradesh.

Abstract about the Place

Place Name: – Singasandhra, Bangalore.

-Electronic_City_Flyover_near_Singasandra  IMG_20150508_122309747

Singasandhra is a suburb area of Bangalore, which is in process of development. It is in south side of the Bangalore. Singsandhra is 3 km away from Busy Bommanahalli area. Here people who lives are from low class. This place belong to lower working class. Small houses without granite and marbles are the identity of this place. There is one ATM in this area which is always out of cash, might be because of the locality backing people hardly fill that ATM with cash. I haven’t seen but I heard from many peoples that there were lot of theft, stealing, pick pocketing kind of incident happened in this area. Initially our hostel authority guided us that not to go through this road at the night, because it’s unsafe. Now a days it’s changing little bit because lots of new shops are opening there so crowd is gathering there. Although of this place is not so good.

शहरांनी केलेत बदल.. (Changing city) @ Vishal Janugade_MAD 14079

Hosa Road Jn: Traffic JAM

Chinthakuntala vijender

Development 1st Year

It is aweekend so I decided to go for a ride on Hosur Road towards Electronics City when I came out of the hostel it is almost 5:00pm As I excepted the ride is breezy no hitches I reached singsandra  in 10 min. Once I past it I saw smoke and vehicles begin to pile up at traffic signals. But I reached hosur road I stare at traffic pile up a head. And I have no option other than staying in traffic other option.  To my surprise I found a bicyclist I suspect he is a software professional going by his back pack and formal attire. He is sure to reach ahead of any of me. The traffic police constable stops trusting on the automatic signaling and steps in to ease out the traffic flow.

Untitled

A constant flow of traffic from Begur Road joins the flow of vehicles towards Electronics City. The narrow road perpendicular to Hosur Road feeds traffic equal to the volume of traffic from the central part of the city to Electronics City.

We are sandwiched and our auto driver uses all his skills to nose past the bigger vehicles. At 10.10 a.m. we reach the Bommanahalli Junction and decide to take a U-turn. But the ordeal does not end there. We get stuck in the rush hour melee of vehicles from four directions forcing their way through under the very Bangalore Elevated Toll Road that was meant to serve as a solution to the traffic menace.

Hosa Road Jn: STREET VENDORS

Chinthakuntala vijender
MAD14049
Development 1st Year

Untitled

It is 6:30 pm in the Evening I was standing at junctionHosur road is saw a vegetable vendor pushing his cart, and a cobbler who is busy with his work who is sitting on the footpath of the road, And the coconut vendor, the flower seller outside places of worship or the tea seller. All this people are busy with their business and the general public mostly depended on this people for their daily needs and convenience this junction is slightly situated at near to small slums. And in the name of development urban areas in India started with traditional street-side markets which all under in threat. The Government wants to shut down street vending and instead support the growth of malls. Focusing on the formal sector in here the informal sector business and people are completely destroyed.  With increase in the economy and the city of Bangalore is witnessing an enormous spatial change along with changes in local culture and society. Streets are being widened at the cost of lives and livelihoods, new roads, and while observing all this I was talking to Satish who is a TEA seller he told that the biggest problem faced by street vendors is the police and corporation authorities, who continuously force them to pay bribes. Incapability of vendors to pay monitory bribes results in taking away half their wares. And it’s been almost 2 hours I spent there I saw vendors busy with their business. And slowly the traffic at the junction has been increased with buses and cabs of software companies.

Journal Entry 4 ‘Konpanna Agrahara’

Journal entry 4 ‘Konapanna Agrahara’

It was interesting to visit this on different times in a day. Usually I am use to visit only one Saturday, this time I also visited to the place on Saturday but different times. I went in morning 8 a.m. I saw some interesting pictures which I didn’t see before. In morning the people of that place were ready to on their job and waiting for the bus. I thought the road is not made for travel the heavy vehicles but the private buses were travelling on that road. The people were standing on both side of road many of them were young people around age of 20 to 40 years. Small street vendors were preparing to situate their shop on the side of that road. Some vendors were started their shops and selling their food and other things. I also found the people were gathered outside of the ATMs and withdrawing the money for their expenditure. Some old people were chatting with each other sited on the temple’s floor.  Some little girls and women were filling their pitchers by water. Some people were having their breakfast. I ask to a vendor, the road is not big to travel the big vehicles although the buses travelling on that. He said “yes we know the road is too small to travel these kind of vehicles but we don’t have other options in mornings because the people need to go on time on their job and it’s very easy to pick up the people from these road because lot of people goes to same place or same area.” In morning I didn’t found too much crowd on this road.

I also visited in after noon at around 2 p.m. I found all the shop keepers were sitting in their shops and waiting for the customers. There were small crowd on the road. But I found that so many young people were wandering there because they were IT servants and had holiday on Saturday. They were purchasing the things.  Some ice cream shops were having good rush. I thought many people were having the rest in their rooms.

I visited in evening around 7 p.m. the picture was interesting the road was full of rush and the people were purchasing lot of things. All the shops were full of rush. Hotels were full of rush. There was loud sound or people, street vendors having good amount of customers. Some big shops have been decorated by the lightings and other things. It was like festival day. I also found there are temples, some are small and some are big. Many people were visiting to the temples and the temples were also full of lightings. Some ‘POOJA’ were happenings in those temples. Many people were coming back on their jobs, but this time the buses were not travelling on that road. Because of the crowd they don’t have the chance to travel of that road. Many people were walking but the two wheelers were disturbing them and also disturbing to street vendors.

I was thinking about that situation, is the two wheeler disturbing them by going that road or they are disturbing to two wheelers by siting on the road.

Let me tell you about Ukhrul Town

Please let me, let me start.

Please let me, let me start.
I want to tell you about this place I live.

The sidewalks are sort of like highways.
The people are sort of like cars.
We all say the beauty as we walk.
We say it out loud instead of having conversations or thinking.
We are happy and busy people.

Let me tell you about Ukhrul.

No one goes to police bazar for no reason.
Times Square is empty, silent at night
Vines grow from the walls.
In Ukhrul, no one looks at celebrities.

We are in the north-east beauty Centre.
We never eat other than non-veg in restaurant.
We never eat at chain restaurants.
We welcome to all friends to visit our place.

Tourists are always walking around the city.

No matter how you do it, of course we have to live in.
That hope has got to on and on.

Just remember every single possible place you could ever go, go toShilui lily peak.

Experience the snow fall in the small lily mountain.

See the entire Villages in your eyes.
See, it’s easy like a birth eyes.

Let me tell you about Ukhrul more and more.
