2nd day Visit- Street Food

Street Food

The place that being spectated by me is in between the road which is connected from electronic city to Sheesa-sai P.G boy’s hostel. The vendor here sells eatables like jalebi, samosa, vada and egg chop. Nearby its cart lies a hen farm which produces a very bad smell but this does not affect the business of the vendor as his goodwill is more because of his tasty and quality food. By observing him for two days I came to know that he is very loyal and has large number of customer. His business lies for not more than 3 hours as the demand for snacks is very high and maximum number of the customer were from north India. He comes with his cart around 4:30 pm and sells all his food stuff around 7:30 pm and wind up. After having a small conversation with him he told that though his business is going well but has a lot of competitor in the market who are trying to form hurdles in the business. He come along with his wife who help her in handling the business. The customer here who comes first of all have snacks and then move to the opposite shop which I mentioned earlier in my journal for tea and cigarette. Customer come with friends and some come alone but most of them were in between age of 20 to 30 and depend upon this vendor as they get quality food at a cheaper rate. The vendor comes with all raw products along with his essential utensils and stove in which he prepare snacks. He takes mostly half an hour to assemble the things and then along with his wife start preparing snacks. The demand for the eatables is more but from my observation samosa has more importance than any other eatables because of the special chutney provided along with it. The rush in the shop is in between 6:15 to 7:30 pm in which the vendor and his wife try to satisfy the demand by providing the stuff at the right time. At this time there were some customer who were in hurry move away and again another comes and this continues. The most important thing of this vendor is clean and quality food. He set up his business from last five years and resides near by the location of his business in a rented house. His standard of living has increased after having this business but he also have a lot of faith in god as the business is only because of him and this would continue only till god had his will. By this conversation I came to know that he is very religious and a man of respect who cooks very well and this is the only factor of his good business in the market.
